Quantity Surveyor

  • Location: High Wycombe

Profile

A successful, competent, and pragmatic Quantity Surveyor experienced in specialist contracting with knowledge of the UK commercial industry. At least 5 years experience working on a range of projects, programmes and contracts ideally having successfully delivered in excess of £20 million worth of orders. Must be able to manage multiple fast-paced fit-out projects in both London & Regionally (UK) based out of our High Wycombe HQ.

Commercial responsibilities

  • Tender Analysis (identifying anticipated project margin, develop project cost plan, cash flow, labour requirement and material schedule)
  • Prepare/ submit interim application for payment and review payless certifications
  • Valuing and agreeing site/ client variations and identifying works in additional to the sub-contract
  • Valuation and procurement of provisional items in the sub-contract
  • Prepare internal valuations
  • Monthly reporting & CVR preparation (analysis and monitoring costs, budget forecasting, updating cost plan, reviewing cash flow/ labour resource/ programme)
  • Prepare sub-contract orders
  • Submission of Notification of delay & extension of time request in accordance with the sub-contract
  • Set off disputes & resolutions

Graduate Trainee Quantity Surveyor (1 place available, start date flexible - April 2019 onward)

Profile

As a trainee Quantity Surveyor, you will work within the Major Works commercial department shadowing a Senior Quantity Surveyor learning the fundamentals of our business and trade. They will offer you guidance and assistance with your development that will be individually reviewed periodically. You will gain a wider knowledge of how a commercial team interact with each department and how success is delivered.  

In order to succeed you will need to be tenacious, able to quickly establish working relationships with a variety of people and thrive in a varied and fast paced environment.

You will have received, or be expecting to achieve, a degree of at least 2:1 level, but the course studied is not as important as having the requisite personal attributes.

Warehouse Manager

Optima Products Ltd is a rapidly growing manufacturing company based close to both Bristol & Bath. Optima Products Ltd employs over 100 people, designing, manufacturing and distributing an extensive range of Optima branded partitioning systems. Our award-winning products are used in high quality interior fit-outs of commercial office space, generally for blue chip clients, throughout the world.

We are looking for a Warehouse Manager to join our team on a permanent basis, ideally we are looking for someone with:

  • At least 5-10 years experiencing managing warehouses with large volumes of small and large orders.
  • Proven track record in process improvement projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage warehouse budgets.
  • Experience of exporting.
  • Strong IT skills

As the Warehouse Manager you will be responsible for ensuring operational excellence in the supply of products to our customers that is consistent with best practice and adheres to our quality standards. You will be responsible for all shipping, receiving, and picking operations and personnel. Key accountabilities are accuracy, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. You will constantly look at ways to maximise efficiency and provide superior customer service. As warehouse manager you will identify productivity improvement projects required to lower operational costs.

 

Responsibilities

  • Providing day-to-day management of the Warehouse and Logistics functions to ensure KPIs are met.
  • Review and establish suitable working rosters and manage the workload balance of the warehouse.
  • Ensure good warehouse practices are being conducted and in line with procedures to maintain or improve feedback KPIs, stock losses and right offs.
  • Modify or update procedures to improve efficiency as required.
  • Ensure perpetual stocktakes are done regularly (ensuring all stock is counted 1.5 times per year).
  • Manage the logistics provider(s) to ensure quality of service and value for money is achieved.
  • Assist with execution of warehouse and logistics projects within budget and on time.
