Fire-rated glass partitions at Audley bring fire protection and contemporary design to their brand-new luxury retirement village in Sunningdale

Audley has recently completed the re-development of Northcote House in Sunningdale. This iconic grade II listed neo-Georgian mansion has been transformed into a luxury retirement village. Spanning 16.5 acres the village includes gardens, lakes, and natural woodland with one-, two- and three-bedroom properties. Alongside main contractor Zenith Ltd and architect Gaunt Francis, we created a bright and beautiful atrium that looks over the central lobby and bar area. Our fire-rated glass partitions and doors bring a contemporary feel to this historic design, flooding the lobby with natural light.

Fire protection for residents

Fire safety was a key design requirement for Audley at their new luxury development. They wanted to create a space where residents felt safe and comfortable. With this in mind, we installed Technishield 70 fire-rated screens around the first-floor gallery. Delivering 60 minutes integrity and insulation these fire-rated glass partitions fitted seamlessly into the design, whilst also providing impressive fire protection. Independently tested and certified all the Technishield range offers safe, consistent, and compliant solutions, ensuring they are fit for purpose on any fit-out. As a result, this high-performance fire solution offers a sleek and contemporary feature which also meets the practical demands of the design.

Alongside the glass partitions, we installed a pair of Technishield 65 fire-rated doors on both sides of the large central staircase. Also offering 60 minutes integrity and insulation this single leaf door system incorporated with an over panel boosts the level of protection, adding an extra line of defence against heat and fire in this fit-out.

Bringing a modern touch to this historic building

Project Manager, Gavin Evans, and his team brought a bright and modern look to this historic building. The clean and stylish aesthetic of our glass partitioning systems complimented the sophisticated and grand design of Audley’s latest development. Overlooking the relaxed central bar area, our glass partitions allow natural light to stream in from the stunning, arched ceiling.

Looking back over this unique fit-out, Project Manager, Gavin Evans commented:

“Over the years I have had the opportunity to work on some fantastic projects and this is yet another. It was great to be a part of such a unique fit-out for Audley, the team and I are extremely happy and proud with the finished product”.
