Acoustically rated double glazed partitions in Kuala Lumpur’s MetLife HQ

Practicality in acoustic design

As can be seen, the communal area is a place to entertain guests and clients alike. Soft furnishings suit the light bright space using contrasting colours of red, grey, yellow and black. The centrepiece of the area is a set of stylish grey sofas which, when together form an outwardly facing circle. This allows for many conversations in one open space.

Our Revolution 100 double glazed partition system matches the flow of the space with its slight curve. As a result, this influences the sense of modernity in the office, making every element of the space work together seamlessly. The aesthetic of the partition is attractive and sleek, with its modest curve giving the office a sense of life through our partition intelligently responding to the contours of the space. Steering away from the conventionally straight base and head tracks affect the overall feel of the offices, giving the space a friendlier, lighter-hearted tone.

Elite Aero pocket sliding doors work within our Revolution 100 to split the communal space from the smaller meeting rooms. Furthermore, the sliding door uses space economically, not having the swing arc of a conventional pivoting door.

Functional meeting rooms

Two meeting rooms used primarily as phone booths are spanned by the Revolution 100 system with Elite Aero pocket sliding door which we installed to match the style of the office. The combination of our double glazed system and Elite Aero door gives an acoustic rating of up to Rw39dB. This makes the meeting rooms perfect for private client meetings.

In addition to considering acoustic value, we have added privacy manifestation bands onto the system, giving an additional element of confidentiality to any meeting. 

Splitting the two meeting rooms is a wall to which we have installed a partition fin to close off the spaces from one another. The fin is jointed to our Revolution 100 system providing a consistent level of acoustic guarding.

‘Perhentian’

In addition to giving acoustically rated partitions, we split the ‘Perhentian’ from the open space with our Asia Affinity double glazed doors. This door provides an impressive Rw41dB acoustic rating. Behind the doors is a boardroom perfect for bigger, private meetings with clients and employees. The systems are finished with a room booking system, placed directly on the glass of our Revolution 100 double glazed screen. The screen is installed with manifestation with the room name ‘Perhentian’.

Black powder coating

Our powder coating capabilities in our Malaysian manufacturing facility has given us the opportunity to add an extra layer of personalisation to any office. MetLife took full advantage of this by including black powder coated frames to all partitions and doors. This is by, in essence, giving a bold and striking effect to all partitions within the space. 

In conclusion

To summarise, along with Space Matrix, we have created an environment which proves dynamic and interesting to the eye. This is a space bursting with colour and interesting architectural elements, effectively finished by our array of glass partitions and doors.
