For the UK’s leading music royalty collector, PRS for Music, a move to a new office required a sophisticated and dynamic interior to reflect the fast-moving, creative industry to which it belongs. To help create the complex and stylish design, architects HLW appointed Optima to provide a range of beautifully designed partitioning systems.
2 Pancras Square, Kings Cross, London
The building, at Two Pancras Square, spans 52,000ft2 of office space and is conveniently situated in the heart of the King’s Cross redevelopment – a stone’s throw from King’s Cross and St Pancras International stations. HLW’s vision was to create a modern, creative workplace which reflected the collaborative nature of the client’s industry. To help achieve this they called upon Optima to create a variety of spaces throughout the building which encouraged collaborative working and reinforced the organisation’s youthfulness.
To meet the architect’s brief, Optima designed and installed a series of single-glazed partitions and doors, to create a number of rooms for private meetings and confidential conversations to take place. Many of the glass screens throughout the four-storey building incorporated a bespoke and distinctive mesh interlayer; a dual-purpose, aesthetically-pleasing solution that provides a sense of privacy for the closed meeting spaces whilst also helps to create a striking visual backdrop for the larger open plan areas of the workspace.
Our technical knowledge and acoustic expertise was called upon for the 8th floor studios, which required an exceptional level of sound control. Our vast experience of high acoustic specialist glazing gave the project team complete peace of mind that the performance criteria could be met.
Optima’s glass partitions have helped create a spacious and dynamic workplace which has met the aesthetic and technical requirements of the architect and client. Our design and manufacturing expertise led to the successfully delivery of a project that will enable PRS for Music’s current and future workforce to embrace the youthful and creative vitality of the business.
