Increasing visual connectivity with glass partitions and doors

To start, we collaborated with the SLCT, as well as global architects Gensler and contractor BW: Workplace Experts on this pro-bono project. Initially, increasing visual connectivity and natural light flow were key design considerations for what was previously a dark environment with little natural light. As a result, beautiful glass partitions and doors were used to  meet both of these requirements, in turn creating a light and welcoming work space.

Striking bespoke glass partitions

Next, Technishield 65 glass partitions and doors were installed in order to maximise light flow and conform to the fire performance requirements. Moreover, in Your Space’s shared area, our fire-rated slotted windows create a striking feature within the main drywall partition. Additionally, the sleek Axile Pulse frameless glass doors create a series of phone booths. Likewise, this allows visibility and light flow across the floor, whilst providing quiet areas away from the main open plan area.

Creating a unique and inspirational legacy

Following on from our work, Chris Crawford, Gensler’s lead designer on the project, said: “Increasing visibility and creating vistas throughout the space were design imperatives. Optima donated new glazed partitioning, doors and windows, where some had to comply with the building’s fire strategy. Technically and functionally sound, the partitions look slick and fit in perfectly with the aesthetic of the overall scheme. Overall, the project would not have been the same without Optima’s involvement.”
