True to Form: 177 Bothwell Street is a Landmark Project and a Glaswegian Landmark

There’s something special about seeing a project you’ve contributed to getting the recognition it deserves – especially when it’s one that champions workplace wellbeing, sustainability, and acoustic excellence in equal measure.

We’re proud to have been specified by Form DC for Virgin Money’s three-floor fit-out at 177 Bothwell Street in Glasgow – a building that’s quickly become a landmark in Scotland’s commercial office landscape and won Best Commercial Workspace at the BCO Regional Scottish Awards 2023.

A forward-thinking fit-out for a forward-thinking client

Form DC led the workplace design strategy for this new Virgin Money HQ, working closely with MPact Group to deliver a fit-out that reflects the brand’s progressive culture and values. The result is a light-filled, high-performance workspace that sits within Scotland’s first WiredScore Platinum building – one designed to support wellbeing, sustainability and seamless digital connectivity.

From the beginning, Form DC’s vision called for acoustic performance and design quality to go hand in hand. That’s where our systems came in.

Precision-engineered for performance

To meet the demanding acoustic requirements (Rw 51 dB for glazed partitions and Rw 45 dB for doors) – we supplied our Revolution 100 double glazed partitioning system, paired with Elite Affinity door sets. The result is a calm, high-functioning environment that keeps collaborative energy and private conversations… private.

We also collaborated with Form DC on the delivery of bespoke oak handles – a small but striking detail that reinforces the natural, warm material palette of the interior.

Low carbon, high impact

Sustainability was a key consideration on this project. We’re proud that our aluminium profiles have less than 1.9Kg CO2e, contributing to Virgin Money’s and Form DC’s shared environmental ambitions. This is the lowest embodied carbon currently available within aluminium partitioning globally. It’s one more way our systems support long-term, responsible design outcomes.

Recognised by the BCO

The wider building at 177 Bothwell Street – which boasts features like a rooftop running track and a 100% renewable energy supply – has already picked up a BCO Regional Award for Commercial Workplace in 2023. It’s no surprise that Virgin Money’s fit-out has now caught the BCO’s attention too.
