Joining Optima in 2003, Richard has over 30 years’ experience in the industry. Beginning his career in 1986, Richard initially focused on specialist sub-contracting, working in the drywall and plastering sector. In 2000 Richard changed his tact and decided to concentrate on commercial management as a quantity surveyor.

It was this change in direction that led to him working within the specialist partitioning market. This experience served him well and allowed a seamless progression into his role at Optima. Since joining, Richard has steadily progressed from Senior Quantity Surveyor (2003), to Financial Manager (2006) and has represented Optima Contracting as Commercial Director since 2013.

As an advocate of collaboration, Richard is dedicated to ensuring that all parties involved benefit from a clear and defined workflow throughout the life-cycle of Optima’s projects, from initial order right through to final account. Individually, Richard has been instrumental in building a strong and effective financial team at Optima who can be relied upon to consistently achieve very high levels of commercial success.
